As many of you know, I make quilts for baby's born in our church. We had a girl who was expecting twins. I share this church job with another lady. We worked it out so it was my turn. The girl expecting the twins was also my niece. I chose the same pattern for each quilt, but used different fabrics.
This pattern is from a book titled "Big Block Quilts." The idea is that if you have a pattern for a quilt block, you can just make the pieces larger and get a quilt. This quilt was made with 6 " squares and half square triangles.

I want to talk about the design in the orange border strips. I was watching an episode of "Numbers" on television and they were talking about symbols. The symbol in the border was talked about. It is a part of two circles that intersect each other. They said the symbol means "the intersection between heaven and earth." Isn't birth a thing that can be described as "the intersection between heaven and earth?"
The pattern in the white section is the one I really wanted to practice. I am making another large quilt I want to use it in.

Second twin quilt. The pattern is the same. I quilted it a little differently.
The curves were quilted with a ruler. That's why they are so straight.
