Elephant receiving blanket for Val's grand daughter.

Another simple receiving blanket from the self-binding receiving blanket pattern.  Isn't this fabric cute.

Tara's Receiving Blanket

I gave this blanket to my neice.  The center fabric came from her grandmother's stash.  That made it extra special.

Jungle Animal Receiving Blanket

Here is another of the self-binding receiving blankets. I think I would have liked it better if I had cut the Orange out to be 40 inches and the animals to be the smaller 30 inch piece. The dark bright orange might have looked better as the binding. I bought the fabric before I had ever made a blanket and didn't realize how the color would affect the look of the blanket. I still really like it. The animal fabric is really cute.

This is just a close up of the corner from the front.

Pink Polka Dot Self Binding Receiving Blanket

I made this yesterday as a gift for a friend who has just adopted a baby girl. I really do like the way this self binding looks. It seems to make a very strong blanket. I think with cutting and everything it took me 2 hours to make. I am counting this towards my One Project a Month Challenge.

Pink Star Self-binding receiving blanket

I learned to make this self binding receiving blanket at the "Quilting in the Country" quilt retreat last fall. It takes a 30" square and a 40" square of fabric that you sew together. It turned out so nice, I don't want to give it away.
