Giveaway-The Giving Quilt

"The Giving Quilt" is on top of my "giving quilt.".   The quilt under the book is part of my church job which is to make quilts for the new babies in our church congregation.

I know that many of you are making and giving quilts.  Why do we do this?  This book explores the concept of quilters making charity quilts.  As with many of her books, she weaves this into a story at an Elm Creek Quilt retreat. After reading this book, I hope you make a charity quilt.  I think giving is good for our souls and as quilters the natural thing to give is a quilt!

One added bonus is that this book includes a free pattern.  You have to write down the directions as you go, but there is a pattern written into the story.  I don't remember her doing this in any of her other books.

To enter the contest, just leave a comment at the bottom of this post.  For a second entry leave a comment telling me you have become a follower of my blog or you already are a follower.  I will be giving this book away on November 15 by choosing a random comment.

Have a great day and have fun making those charity quilts!

Would love to read that book. I started making quilt tops about a year and a half ago and I am hooked. I love giving them to family and friends.

Ok, last one from me. My mother in law (Darla Hansen) saw this giveaway on facebook. She doesn't have an account to comment on here with, so she asked me to enter her in. So here is Darla Hansen's entry (you can double check if you want... she commented on your picture of the give away on facebook, asking about the pattern of the quilt the book is on)
